The illustrious Amazon kindle, the wireless reading gismo was first introduced to the store by Amazon.com subsidiary Lab126 in the November 2007. It was sold out in five and a half hours and was out of stock until April 2008.
The first kindle gismo which was priced at Us 9 had 250 Mb of internal memory (expandable) and could hold up to 200 non-illustrated titles. The display for this primary kindle gismo was 6 inch, 4-level Grayscale screen.

Amazon released the next generation Kindle Device, the Kindle 2 in 9th February 2009. With a more enlarge 16-level grayscale display, improved battery life, faster page-refreshing, and a text-to-speech option, Kindle 2 gismo was priced at Us 9 which was a much great deal. With 2Gb of internal memory it could hold up to 1500 non-illustrated titles.
Amazon announced an international version of the Kindle 2 on October 2009 which became ready for online purchase on the 19th of the same month. Initially priced at Us 9, the international version is very similar to the primary kindle physically and works in over 100 countries.
The latest generation of the kindle family, the Kindle Dx, which retails for Us 9 has a range of new features. One of such features is the capability to automatically rotate pages agreeing to the orientation (landscape or portrait) if the gismo is turned on its side. Kindle Dx has a 4Gb warehouse capacity and could indeed hold up to 3500 non-illustrated e-books.
